Firefighter and Three LAPD Officers Hurt in House Fire

A firefighter and three LAPD officers were injured Thursday during a house fire in Reseda, reports CBS Los Angeles.

The firefighter suffered unspecified injuries while battling the fire, while the officers suffered smoke inhalation. All four were transported to local hospitals.

The fire was reported at a one-story home in the 17800 block of Vanowen Street around 12:46 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott.

Approximately 75 firefighters were dispatched to the location, where witnesses say a 13-year-old girl was initially trapped inside, Scott said.

The victim was pulled from the home with the help of a neighbor, who started fighting the fire with a garden hose before breaking the window with his bare hands to pull the girl to safety, according to KCAL9’s Adriana Weingold.
