Firefighter-Paramedic at IL National Laboratory Found Dead in Station

The U.S. Fire Administration issued a notice on the recent death of a firefighter with the Argonne National Laboratory Fire Department in Lemont, Illinois.

On Saturday, November 20, 2021, Firefighter/Paramedic Scott Williams, 46, responded to a smoke investigation in one of the facility’s laboratories. He returned to the station and during shift change on Sunday, November 21, 2021, was found unresponsive in his bunk. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigation into the cause of his death is ongoing.
