FDNY Firefighter Seriously Injured in Staten Island House Fire

Dec. 22—STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A firefighter was injured in a house fire in Annadale on Saturday morning.

The injured FDNY member was transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The firefighter’s current condition is unknown, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.

The blaze was reported just before 9:57 a.m. in a two and a half story, 20-by-50-foot home at 111 Lenzie St. between Harold and Arden avenues, according to an FDNY spokesperson. The house is four blocks north of Hylan Boulevard.

Emergency responders placed the fire under control in a little over an hour, by 11:12 a.m., the spokesperson confirmed.

The incident is currently under investigation.
