Firefighters Battle Fire at CA Hangar

Fire crews in Tustin responded Tuesday to a large fire at an historic blimp hangar, according to reports.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the north hangar at the now defunct Tustin Naval Air Station is an Orange County landmark that dates back to World War II. It is approximately 17 stories high.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority on social media, the imminent danger of collapse compelled firefighters to allow the structure to collapse, after which crews could move in for extinguishment.
