Firefighters Battle Fire at MI Senior Apartment Complex

Fire photographer Ian Kushnir shared photos of firefighters working at a fire Tuesday in a senior apartment complex in Southgate, Michigan.

Firefighters were dispatched to a reported fire on a second-floor balcony. Crews arrived to smoke showing with fire spreading in the attic. Fire and police departments from multiple downriver agencies worked to evacuate the building.

This was a multiple-alarm fire that heavily damaged the structure at Meadows of Southgate, with Southgate, Allen Park, Taylor, Wyandotte, Riverview, Brownstown, Ecorse, and Lincoln Park fire departments responding.
