CLEVELAND, Ohio – A fire at a car business in Lorain damaged dozens of vehicles early Monday, fire officials said.
The fire at IAA Auction on Deer Trail Lane, just off Baumhart Road, began shortly after 2:30 a.m., and it struck 40 to 70 cars and trucks, said Jeff Fenn, an assistant fire chief in Lorain.
He said it is unclear how the fire began or how much damage it caused. Fenn said the initial call came in at 2:42 a.m. Firefighters left the business at 7:15 a.m.
The 11-acre parcel has cars that can be sold for parts or to people looking to fix the vehicles, Fenn said.
