Firefighters Battle Four-Alarm Fire at PA Strip Mall

Firefighters responded early Thursday to a large fire at a strip mall in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, according to reports.

The fire occurred at Martin’s Country Market off Route 322 in Ephrata Township, reported Lancaster Online. More than 80 units from four counties responded to the fire, which reportedly occurred just before 4 a.m.

Firefighters were alerted by an automatic fire alarm and an employee who called emergency services when they smelled smoke, reports FOX 43. The building does not have sprinklers, and although the area has fire hydrants, firefighters still had to supplement their water supply with tankers, Randall Gockley, public information officer for Lincoln Fire Company, told reporters. One person was injured after slipping on ice.
