Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at a business in Pagedale (MO), reports Fox 2 St. Louis.
Calls went out around noon and more than 20 fire units responded to put the fire out.
Mid County Fire Chief Sean Mahoney said even the city received calls because the black smoke could be seen from all the way in the city earlier Wednesday afternoon.
Fire Chief Mahoney said more than 25 fire units responded from neighboring fire departments and beyond to fight the blaze.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the two-warehouse structure behind the Pagedale railroad business, N & J Railroad Contractors Incorporated, fully involved in fire.
The firefighters struck into a third alarm and used the hydraulics to fight the fire from the truck ladders.
Chief Mahoney said the contents of the warehouse increased the intensity of the fire at this local business.
