Fire Department of New York (FDNY) firefighters controlled a fire that occurred in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn last week, and fire photographer Lloyd Mitchell shared a few images of crews working at the scene.

According to Mitchell, the outside vent man worked off a ground ladder to execute horizontal ventilation as heavy smoke pushed from the second floor of the private dwelling. The outside vent man for Rescue 2 made a point to remove the whole window and curtains as a means of egress, which helped the interior truck companies with searches as smoke was removed from the building. The firefighter assist and search team (FAST) Truck laddered the building.
