Firefighters Control Rochelle Park (NJ) House Fire

Fire photographer Tony Greco shared some photos of firefighters responding to a house fire Tuesday in Rochelle Park, New Jersey.

A morning house fire call at 39 North Drive was dispatched to the town’s volunteer fire department at 0835 hours. Firefighters were met heavy smoke showing from a 1 1/2-story wood frame home. Crews became aware that they has advanced basement fire, with fire already burning through first floor.

Mutual aid was quickly called in from Hackensack, Maywood, and Paramus, as well as standby companies at their headquarters.

With Rochelle Park Chief Joseph DeFalco in command, firefighters were compelled to retreat for a short time to establish a good water supply. Several civilian injuries were reported, as well as one firefighter.

Accordng to a report from dailyvoice.com, a civilian was arrested for tussling with police during the incident. He was reportedly interfering with responders trying to bring his mother, who was injured, to an area medical facility.
