Firefighters responded last Tuesday to a three-alarm fire in the Illinois community of Crystal Lake, and fire photographer Tim Olk shared some pics from the scene.

Olk reported that Crystal Lake units pulled up with a fully-involved house fire. All occupants were out of the building, which was located in a non-hydrant area.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, one person was injured in the fire at the single-family home, but no firefighters were injured.

Residents heard an explosion in the basement and fled, according to the report.

The house also was equipped with smoke detectors, although residents reported they did not have batteries and were not working, according to a report from the Northwest Herald.
