Firefighters in Anaheim faced a frightening backdraft situation while battling a fire at a wedding planning business Monday morning, reports abc7.com.
The fire caused damage at Events by Adam Afara in the 700 block of North Valley Street around 1:30 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting through the roof. Crews had to cut through the warehouse doors and a second wall just to gain access.
When firefighters gained entry, a wall of smoke came pouring out. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Firefighters say backdraft happens when the fire is essentially starving for oxygen.
It took 15 minutes for crews to knock down the fire, stopping it before spreading to neighboring units.
Arson investigators on scene say they have not found anything suspicious. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
