Two firefighters were injured while battling a three-alarm residential fire in Laguna Hills, reports CBS Los Angeles.
The fire that spread to two homes was reported about 11:30 a.m. in the 22600 block of Napoli Lane, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi said. About 70 firefighters were on the scene, battling the fire, which was brought under control by 12:30 p.m.
One firefighter sustained second-degree burns to a hand, and another suffered heat exhaustion, Concialdi said.
The Red Cross was called to help place eight adults and seven children were displaced by the fire, Concialdi said.
One of the homes was the site of a licensed daycare center, where five children ages 1 to 5 were being cared for, Concialdi said. The daycare’s children were safely evacuated.
