Firefighters on Long Island used a cyanide antidote Sunday to help save a 70-year old man who was suffering from smoke inhalation, according to news reports.
According to WCBS (http://cbsloc.al/1CfpYQz), the save came after a the victim was rescued from his burning home in Dix Hills.
The report said it was the first time the cyanokit was used in Suffolk County. Dix Hills Chief Robert Fling told reporters that previously relied on high-concentration oxygen and quick transport to the hospital in smoke-inhalation cases.
