Firefighters, Police Respond to Oak Forest (IL) House Fire and Barricade Situation

Firefighters and law enforcement officials are responding to a fire and barricade situation in the city of Oak Forest, Illinois, in Cook County.

Residents nearby the scene in the 5500 block of Ann Marie Lane were being asked to shelter in place early Friday morning, September 23, 2022.

According to ABC 7 Chicago, firefighters were attempting to extinguish the fire at around 7:25 a.m. local time, and fire was visible through the roof. The police had reportedly originally responded to a domestic incident in the area.

As of approximately 11 a.m. Eastern time, the city indicated via social media that there was no longer a threat to the community, and that the incident was under investigation.
