Firefighters Rescue One Person from GA House Fire; Two Hospitalized

Two people were hospitalized after a fire engulfed a Kennesaw home off Old 41 Highway Monday night, the Cobb Fire Department reports.

Cobb and Marietta Fire responded to a house fire call at 1470 Old 41 Highway near Kennesaw Mountain where one victim was reported to be trapped inside the residence. Cobb Fire arrived on scene to find smoke and fire showing from the side and back of the house.

Firefighters immediately went into rescue mode to find the trapped victim in the house, a Cobb Fire spokesman reports.

Firefighters found and removed the victim from the house and began CPR in the front yard. The victim was then transported to Kennestone Hospital by Metro Ambulance Service.

Another victim escaped the house with minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital.

The fire was extinguished and the cause is under investigation by the Cobb Arson Unit.
