Multiple Fire Departments Respond to Fairport Harbor (OH) Apartment Fire

Firefighters from multiple fire departments responded to an October 14 fire that badly injured one person in Fairport Harbor, Ohio.

The New Herald reported that emergency crews responded at about 6 p.m. to the reported apartment fire, where they found smoke coming from the rear of the structure. In addition, flames could be seen through a window.

Before firefighters arrived, a Fairport police officer and a bystander had broken down the door to the first-floor apartment and pulled out an adult male victim, who was transported with burn injuries.

The fire was ruled under control in about an hour, and the case of the fire is under investigation. Mentor (OH) Fire photographer Bridget Gandee shared some photos from the scene.

Besides firefighters from Fairport Harbor, other cities that responded included Concord, Leroy, Grand River, Madison, Perry, Mentor, Mentor-on-the-Lake, Painesville city, and Painesville Township fire.
