Firefighters Respond to 4-Alarm Brooklyn Recycling Center Fire

Fire Department of New York (FDNY) firefighters worked through the night to control a massive fire at a recycling center in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

The Daily News reported (http://nydn.us/1eRHi2B) that the fire began around 7 p.m. Monday and firefighters were still trying to control the fire at 2 a.m.

Nearly 200 firefighters used tower ladders to douse the fire, which tore through the accumulated paper and plastic at the facility, causing a collapse.

No civilians were reported injured, but one firefighter suffered a minor injury.
