At approximately 8:26 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013, firefighters were dispatched to 437 Joseph Street. Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from the side of a trailer home. No one was inside the trailer at the time of the fire and the sole occupant came home to find his home fully engulfed. Firefighters extinguished the bulk of the fire within 15 minutes. No injuries were reported and the fire was contained to the single trailer home.
A fire investigator determined the cause of the fire was electrical in nature and caused by an electrical cord pinned underneath furniture. The home is considered a total loss and damages are estimated at $20,000.00. Approximately 8 units, 22 firefighters responded to this incident.
