First responders invited to attend marriage conference for free

FamilyLife, the leader in marriage conferences, presents Weekend to Remember in Stockton (Oct. 31 – Nov. 2) and Sacramento (Nov. 7 – 9 and Nov. 14 – 16). Weekend to Remember is a marriage conference aiming to strengthen healthy marriages and heal troubled ones in a fun, supportive, and non-threatening environment.

Although every couple is encouraged to attend, FamilyLife has invited local area first responders and their spouses to attend these conferences free of charge in recognition of the sacrifices they make to ensure the safety of their communities and the subsequent toll that their jobs take on their marriages. A first responder couple includes at least one spouse who is active in the police force, fire department, or EMT fields.

The three area FamilyLife conferences are scheduled as follows:

Oct. 31 – Nov. 2: Sheraton Stockton Hotel at Regent Pointe, 110 West Fremont Street, Stockton. Cost for this conference is $99 per person*
Nov. 7 – 9 and Nov. 14 – 16: DoubleTree Hotel Sacramento, 2001 Point West Way, Sacramento. Cost for this conference is $129 per person.*

* First Responder couples are invited to attend the conference for free and must register by end of day on the Thursday prior to each conference to guarantee admittance.

“The Weekend to Remember conference saved our marriage,” said George McKinley, a Fair Oaks resident and 20-year veteran of the California Highway Patrol who attended his first FamilyLife conference along with his wife, Debbie, in 1996. “Our relationship was in rough shape, and we are so thankful we found a program that could provide us with the tools we needed to improve our communication and, ultimately, our marriage.”

Couples interested in more information or to register for the upcoming FamilyLife Weekend to Remember conferences can visit www.familylife.com/weekend. First responder couples should call [1-800-FLTODAY] to receive a promotion code, which they will use to register online. All first responders will need to show proper identification to gain complimentary entry into the conference.
