Five Escape Boat Fire on Douglas Lake (TN)

A boat caught fire on Douglas Lake near the Douglas Headwater Dock in Sevier County, reports WVLT (http://bit.ly/1kFyOSa).

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency states there were five people on the 18-foot boat, two adults and three kids.

The group reports smelling gas before an explosion at the back of the boat near the engine.

The Sevier County Fire Department was at the scene, but they were unable to put out the fire because of the distance. Dispatch says the boat was about 200 yards off the coast.

The group was picked up by another boat and taken back to shore.
