Five Jump to Escape NJ Fire; Man Dies

Five people jumped from a third-floor fire Saturday in Paterson, New Jersey. One of victims, a 41-year-old male, died from his injuries, according to a report.

The Record (http://bit.ly/H65uhc) reported that the man was transported to an area medical facility with leg and head trauma. The other victims were also hospitalized.

The fire started shortly after 3 a.m. in the third-floor apartment of the home. Arriving crews found occupants jumping to escape the fire. Firefighters brought the fire under control in about an hour.
