A domestic dispute in Palm City on Sunday afternoon resulted in a shooting which seriously injured a Martin County firefighter, according to a report from WPBF ABC 25 News.
The report states that the shooting left off-duty firefighter, John Richardson Jr., in serious condition, and his wife and accused attacker, Vernon Chason, dead.
Investigators say that Richardson, his wife, and six others, were gathering his sister-in-law’s belongings, at the house where the shooting occured, to assist in the separation from Chason, her estranged husband.
In the report, officials confirmed that Chason arrived at the home, tried to shoot his wife, missed, but struck and killed Richardson’s wife. Richardson then shot and killed Chason, but was also shot in the exchange of gunfire.
