Flashover at Wind-Driven PA Fire That Injured Civilian, Firefighter

A civilian and a volunteer firefighter were injured Monday in a wind-driven fire in Bushkill, Pennsylvania.

Firefighters faced water supply issues during the mid-morning house fire in Pocono Mountain Lake Estates, according to a report in the Pocono Record (http://bit.ly/HaOJSc). Limited personnel also impacted firefighting operations, the chief of the Bushkill Volunteer Fire Company told the paper, necessitating a call for aid from nearby departments.

A homeowner was transported to an area hospital for smoke inhalation. A firefighter was also taken to the hospital for an unspecified but reportedly minor injury.

During the course of operations, a flashover occurred, forcing interior firefighters to bail out of the structure.
