Former TN Volunteer Firefighter Charged with Setting Easter Sunday Church Fire

According to a report from The Washington Times, a former volunteer firefighter with the the Dresden (TN) Fire Department (DFD) was charged with setting a fire at New Salem Presbyterian Church on Highway 89 in Weakley County on Easter Sunday.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) announced that Codie Austin Clark, 25, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with arson of a place of worship.

Agents discovered that Clark intentionally set the fire. He had served as a volunteer with the DFD, who incidentally had been conducting an internal investigation involving Clark following recent fires in the area.

Clark is free on bond. It is unclear if he has hired a lawyer.
