On Sunday, October 4, 2015, at 0240 hours, units of the San José (CA) Fire Department responded to 2889 Senter Road for a working structure fire in a multi-unit strip mall.
Firefighters arrived on scene and discovered heavy smoke showing from the Cho Senter Market. Crews made entry into the occupancy, but were unable to locate the seat of the fire. Intense heat and zero visibility forced firefighters to vacate the structure and establish a defensive operation.

With the fire growing quickly, additional alarms were struck, summoning more than 70 firefighters to the scene. Multiple master streams and hand lines were placed into operation as crews worked for hours to contain the fire.
More than 24 hours after the first report of fire was received, firefighters remain on scene monitoring the structure for hot spots. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
