Four-Alarm Fire Guts Brooklyn Row Houses

The FDNY battled a four-alarm fire at a multi-family home in Brooklyn Saturday afternoon, reports CBS New York.

More than 150 firefighters responded to the fire on Hemlock Street in the Cypress Hills neighborhood of the borough and police said the fire was under control as of 4:30 p.m.

Assistant Fire Chief James Daly told 1010 WINS firefighters observed heavy fire and smoke when they got to the scene. Daly said all residents were evacuated.

The fire spread from the area above the ceiling of the building’s top floor to two adjoining buildings on its left, Daly said. Four homes were damaged in the fire.
