GA Deputy Chief Dies After Contracting COVID-19

A deputy fire chief in Georgia died after contracting the coronavirus, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

Deputy Chief Tommy Allen Hopson, 53, of Carroll County (GA) Fire Rescue contracted COVID-19 while on-duty at the fire department.

He passed away from the virus on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
