According to a report from CBS46, the Gainesville (GA) Fire Department (GFD) is mourning the loss of firefighter/emergency medical technician Chandler Patterson, 27, after being involved in a boating accident on Lake Tugaloo in Rabun County on Saturday evening.
The GFD announced his death on Facebook on Sunday.
Patterson had been a member of the GFD since June 2019.
Flags will be lowered to half-staff at all GFD stations in his memory.
