The Terrorism Emergency Response and Preparedness Division of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) has purchased 13 new vehicles from the General Division of Rosenbauer.
Georgia law enforcement agencies will receive nine medium-duty Haz-Mat Special Response Trucks. The nine units will have General’s heavy-duty 3/16th aluminum rescue-style walk-around bodies, mounted on Freightliner M2-106 chassis.
The trucks will be assigned to the following Georgia law enforcement agencies: Hall County Sheriff’s Department, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department, Laurens County Sheriff’s Department, Musgogee County Sheriff’s Department, City of Rome Police Department, Gwinnett County Police Department, Cobb County Police Department, and the City of Waycross Police Department. The last unit has not been assigned as yet.
GEMA has also ordered four additional Rosenbauer tractor/trailer Heavy Rescues. The four units, like the ten previous ones built for Georgia Search & Rescue, will have heavy duty Rosenbauer walk-around aluminum trailers with Spartan Gladiator custom tractors. These new units will be assigned to the City of Calhoun Fire Department and the City of Valdosta Fire Department; two last units have not been assigned as yet. All 13 trucks were sold by Bob Milnes of Fire Fighting Innovations, Inc., of Coral Gables, Florida.
