According to a report from FOX5, a young girl was killed and another female adult is in critical condition after an overnight fire swept through a home in the 6600 block of Barrett Road Falls Church, Virginia, just before 1:45 a.m.
Fairfax County Fire/Rescue (FCFR) Deputy Chief Lee Warner said fire crews removed the girl and other female occupant, who were then transported to a local hospital. The girl died a short time later, while the other victim remains in critical condition.
Warner said the fire erupted on the exterior of the home and was heavily involved on FCFR’s arrival. He also said a dog died in the incident.
The relationship between the two victims is unknown at this time. Warner said the fire marshal is now on scene to determine a cause.
