Fallen Godfrey (IL) Fire Captain Laid to Rest

Numerous fire department personnel paid tribute Tuesday to fallen Godfrey (IL) Fire Captain Jake Ringering, who died in the line of duty last week.

On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, Captain Jacob Ringering, 37, and three additional firefighters were injured during a collapse as they attacked a house fire. Ringering was transported and succumbed to his injuries.

Fire photographer and instructor John M. Buckman III shared some photos from the funeral service at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
