Grosse Pointe Farms (MI) Fire Goes to Three Alarms

Grosse Pointe Farms (MI) Fire Goes to Three Alarms

At about 2240 hours on Friday, November 14, 2014, Grosse Pointe Farms (MI) Public Safety was dispatched to smoke in a house at 40 Lee Gate Lane & Grosse Pointe Blvd.

Upon arrival of the first unit, a working fire in a large two-story dwelling was found. A second alarm was then requested. Crews established a water supply, stretched an attack line, performed a interior attack on the structure.

With heavy fire condition in the attic, fire coming through the roof, and possible structural compromise, command order all firefighters out of the structure and set up for defensive operations.

Command then requested a third alarm. Grosse Pointe Farms Ladder 3 was set up for water tower operations on the A side of the structure and Grosse Pointe Park Tower 1 was set up on the C side of the structure.

Crews operated for four hours to bring this fire under control using several handlines and two ladder pipes. Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe City, and Grosse Pointe Park Public Safety Departments responded to this incident.
