The fire started at around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. OFD Chief Byron Jimmerson said that someone was performing welding work inside the hangar before the fire started, although it is still unclear if this was the cause.

Several fire companies assisted in extinguishing the fire.

At least two privately-owned planes were wiped out in the fire.
