Third-Generation Firefighter Appointed to Lead Chicago (IL) Fire Department

Robert Hoff was appointed fire commissioner of the Chicago (IL) Fire Department on June 23, 2010, by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. A 33-year veteran of the department and third-generation firefighter, Hoff replaces the retiring John Brooks. Hoff has twice been awarded the department’s highest honor for his role in two separate rescues, one in 1992 and another in 1007.
