Home Explodes When Akron (OH) Firefighters Make Entry

Two Akron (OH) firefighters were injured when a home exploded after crews made entry to it, according to various reports.

Firefighters responded early Monday morning to a home on Winton Avenue, according to FOX 8. Crews found flames in the back of the home, which exploded moments later.

Lieutenant Tim Morrison, the public information officer, said the explosion occurred as firefighters walked through the door. The injured members were transported and expected to be okay.

No one was inside the home at the time of the explosion, reported News 5 Cleveland, and one of the injured firefighters returned to the scene hours later.
