A smoky fire engulfed a three-story building on Melville Avenue in Norwood Monday afternoon, drawing a massive firefighter response.
Flames broke out on the third floor of the triple-decker around 3:30 p.m., according to WCVB. Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire, and as of Monday evening, the fire was reported to be out.
Sky5 footage showed heavy smoke pouring from the structure, and officials evacuated a neighboring building as a precaution.
Several ambulances were staged at the scene, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The Red Cross arrived to assist displaced residents, with the fire occurring just weeks before Christmas. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
