Hundreds of Firefighters Get Oakwood Beach (NY) Brush Fire Under Control

Hundreds of firefighters were summoned to Oakwood Beach Friday afternoon as they fought to contain a raging brush fire which threatened nearby homes and sent clouds of thick, black smoke billowing into the air, reports silive.com (http://bit.ly/1YaIjec)

Forty-four units and approximately 200 FDNY members battled for more than three hours to contain the fire, which was bordered by Mill Road, Fox Lane and Cedar Grove Avenue.
