ID Fire Chief Dies After Contracting COVID-19

The fire chief of the Garden Valley (ID) Fire Protection District has died after contracting the coronavirus, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

On August 15, 2021, while on duty, Chief Jon Delvalle was exposed to a patient who was COVID-19 positive. He subsequently contracted the virus and passed away on September 14, 2021.

Chief Delvalle was 63 years old.
