Fire Engineering, Champion Rescue Tools sponsor contest at FDIC

Champion Rescue Tools, the leader in next-generation, hydraulic rescue tools able to access the passenger compartments of the safest, 5-star crash rated vehicles, and Fire Engineering, will co-sponsor the “Fire Engineering Extrication Zone Contest” at the upcoming FDIC.

The contest is exclusively for attendees of this year’s Fire Department Instructors Conference, FDIC, being held April 20 – 25 at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The grand prize winner will receive a Champion Rescue Tool’s Beast, the leading technology vehicle rescue tool for firefighters which is able to cut through new vehicle technology (NVT) construction.

Contestants may enter the contest at Fire Engineering’s exhibit booth, #5378, or Champion Rescue Tool’s exhibit booth, #422. Contestants will be asked to answer three questions related to vehicle extrication. The answers to each question can be found at Fire Engineering.com’s “Extrication Zone at www.fireengineering.com/extrication, firefighters’ primary Web resource for all extrication technology news, information and education. The grand prize winner will be drawn and announced on Friday, April 24, at approximately 5 pm EDT.

“Champion and Fire Engineering have worked closely to share important NVT extrication training news with firefighters through FireEngineering.com’s extrication zone,” said Alan Discount, Champion Rescue Tools’ CEO. “Champion Rescue Tool’s mission has always been to save lives, so donating a leading technology Beast rescue tool to a firefighter at the leading annual fire instructors’ conference makes perfect sense at a time when obsolete rescue tools are failing on new vehicle technology construction.”

In addition to donating a Beast extrication tool to one lucky firefighter, Champion Rescue Tools will showcase a Volvo XC90 extrication training vehicle at its exhibit booth, #422.
