IL Firefighter Falls Through Floor During Fire In Vacant Albany Park Building

According to a report from CBS2, a Chicago (IL) Fire Department (CFD) firefighter was hurt after falling through the floor while fighting a fire at a vacant apartment building in the city’s Albany Park neighborhood Tuesday morning.

According to Chicago police, the fire erupted at an apartment building in the 3300 block of West Cullom Avenue just before 3:30 a.m.

The fire was the second incident in Albany Park to which the CFD responded in the past two days.

CFD officials said that one of its firefighters fell through a small hole in the floor and was transported to a local hospital with leg pain.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
