Fire photographer Tim Olk shared some pics from the scene of a unique fire in northern Illinois.

Gurnee Fire Department firefighters responded Tuesday afternoon to a fire in the Gold Pyramid House, a pyramid-shaped building in Wadsworth. According to the Associated Press, the structure was built in 1977 as a private residence but has since opened for public tours.

Olk indicated that the building’s unique layout and fuel load presented challenges for firefighters on scene. He noted that there were apparently two Maydays during operations, one when interior firefighters became momentarily disoriented, another when a dynamic fire event occurred on scene.
