A Fort Wayne firefighter fell through the floor Monday morning while fighting a fire at a house on the city’s north side, reports The Journal Gazette.
The fire department said he was evaluated and returned to work.
Crews were called to the house about 9:15 a.m. after neighbors called about smoke coming from the eaves. When they arrived, firefighters searched and found that no one was at home.
Efforts to fight the flames were hampered, the department said, by a number of storage boxes and belongings inside.
