Indiana Firefighter Hurt After Fall into Basement

A probationary firefighter suffered minor injuries Sunday night after falling 10 feet into a basement during operations at a residential fire.

The incident occurred while firefighters were extinguishing flames at two adjacent homes in Frankfort, according to a report on jconline.com (http://on.jconline.com/V3TV6I). The injured firefighter, Adam Lucas, was transported, treated, and released, a returned to duty that same night with bumps and bruises.

Deputy Chief Jamie Michael, the incident commander, credited the quick actions of Lieutenant Ed Cripe and Firefighter Kevin Watkin in rescuing the down firefighter.
