Indianapolis firefighters responded Thursday to a reported fire at Leed Thermal Processing Inc.
Crews were dispatched at 8:55 p.m. for reports of a chimney fire, according to an Indianapolis (IN) Fire Department (IFD) release.
Firefighters found fire and smoke showing on arrival at the two-story ordinary constructed building.
Crews commenced an offensive attack on the roof, but command ultimately ordered defensive operations. There was the partial collapse of the building’s second-story roof around 9:27 p.m.
A total of 14 IFD units responded, including hazmat teams. Also responding were two Speedway Fire units, two Wayne Township units, and two Pike Township units.
There were no injuries. The fire may have been the rekindle of an earlier fire, when a maintenance worker using a torch to seal rubber roofing and had small fire.
