ISFSI Conference Oct. 22-25 Aimed at Human Resources

ISFSI Conference Oct. 22-25 Aimed at Human Resources

FEATURES

Human resource development will be the theme for the fall conference of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) in Louisville Oct. 22-25.

Nationally known speakers will address the full conference on two of the mornings to discuss the fire instructor’s role in developing a department’s resource material: its fire fighters and officers. Two afternoon sessions will be split for workshops of the eight special interest sections of ISFSI. One session’s workshops will follow the conference theme and the next will focus on the specific needs of each section.

Those special interest sections are municipal instructors, volunteer instructors, public fire educators, state directors of fire service training, federal instructors, industrial instructors and college instructors.

A new feature of the conference will be three hours of program development workshops. All conference participants will receive a package of materials developed during the sessions. The workshops will cover ropes, driver training, rural water supply, dispatcher training, EMS, public fire education, instructor training and garden apartments.

The conference will be hosted by the Kentucky State Fire Service Training Program and the Louisville Fire Department. Registration is $40 for ISFSI members, $45 for members of affiliate chapters of ISFSI and $55 for nonmembers. For more information contact ISFSI at P.O. Box 88, Hopkinton, Mass. 01748, or call (617) 435-6921.
