Jersey City (NJ) Fire Department Names First Female Deputy Chief

The Jersey City (NJ) Fire Department has promote the first woman to the position of deputy chief, the highest-ranking female firefighter in the state of New Jersey.

Constance Zappella, who was also the first female firefighter in the department’s 193-year history, was one of four firefighters promoted to deputy chief on Tuesday, according to NJ.com.
