Jersey City (NJ) Firefighters Respond to Seven-Alarm Recycling Plant Fire

Fire photographer Ron Jeffers offered some photos of firefighters operating at a paper recycling plant fire that went to seven alarms in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The fire occurred Tuesday afternoon, April 11, 2023, at Reliable Paper Recycling, according to 12 News. At the height of the fire, black smoke could be seen for miles around.

The fire was exacerbated by windy conditions, the report said. Ron Jeffers reported that the fire shut down light rail in the area, and smoke covered the New Jersey Turnpike extension.
