Indianapolis, IN – On Friday, June 27, a Federal judge refused to issue an emergency injunction against Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc.-a move which would have expanded the company’s tire recall by millions. The company has already recalled 6.5 million Firestone ATX and Wilderness AT tires. This injunction would have expanded the recall by approximately three million tires.
According to the Associated Press, the judge also rejected a recall of certain Ford Explorers using the tires and dismissed a class action claim that said Bridgestone/Firestone and Ford received money through a pattern of racketeering that left the plaintiffs in the class action with tires or Ford Explorers that were not worth what they paid for them.
Bridgestone said it is pleased with these recent rulings.
