June 1964: Marshalls Creek (PA) Explosion LODDs

On June 26, 1964,  minutes after the Marshalls Creek (PA) Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene at a truck fire, the vehicle suddenly exploded, killing (among others) three members of the department  (F. Earl Miller, Edward Hines, and Leonard Mosier), destroying three apparatus, and creating a large crater. The truck had been transporting explosives including ammonium nitrate blasting agent, dynamite, and blasting caps.
